About Dr Bijan Shahrad

Dr Bijan Shahrad is a Consultant General Paediatrician with specialist expertise in paediatric respiratory medicine and gastroenterology. He is Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology at North Middlesex University Hospital and holds an honorary consultant post at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), with close working relationships across leading tertiary centres for seamless onward investigation. As one of the respiratory leads at his trust he supports children with asthma, chronic cough and recurrent chest infections. He trained at respected paediatric centres including the Royal Brompton, The Royal London, UCL and Chelsea and Westminster, and spent a year of junior training at Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney. His interest in paediatrics was first ignited during a medical elective working on respiratory illness in the Solomon Islands. His approach is holistic — addressing each child's medical needs, emotional wellbeing and the family's concerns, in an environment where children feel safe and heard.

Your care pathway

Two consultations, with your results explained properly at the second.

  1. Initial consultation

    Initial · £300

A full assessment with your consultant, who arranges any tests you need.

  2. Tests & diagnostics

Growth, respiratory or allergy assessment — carried out on-site, often the same day.

  3. Results prepared

Your consultant reviews and interprets your results.

  4. Follow-up consultation

    Follow-up · £250

Your consultant explains the results and agrees your plan — booked as a separate follow-up.

Explaining your results is a dedicated follow-up consultation, charged at the follow-up rate — unhurried time to understand what they mean and what happens next. It is a separate appointment from your initial visit; where clinically appropriate, simple results may be shared securely without coming in.
