From 2017 to today
From a single idea in 2017 to an AI-enabled, specialist-led private medical centre, here's how MEDii grew — while keeping what started it all: care that's reliable, fast and clearly explained.

Founded in London
UK-trained doctors set out to fix a familiar problem: excellent medicine, slow and fragmented experience.
- 2018
Signed partnerships
Hosted the first UK–China Private Healthcare Summit in London and signed partnerships with several medical groups; launched a cross-border service for serious-illness care.
- 2019
Network & recognition
Expanded UK local referral services; nominated "Rising Star" at the LaingBuisson Awards — often called the Oscars of UK private healthcare.
- 2020–2022
Licensed & recognised
Established a UK medical entity and obtained a testing licence; designated by the Chinese Embassy in the UK for travel testing, then expanded into full-range testing and health screening.
- 2023
Dual medical licence
Secured the UK dual medical licence (diagnostics and clinical treatment); launched Urgent Care and 10 specialties; invited by the UK Department for Business & Trade to speak at the World Digital Therapeutics Conference.

Among the best
Named in the VBEF Future Healthcare Top 100 and a cross-border medical Top 5; honoured by a UK DBT counsellor; opened the imaging department and fever clinic.

Flagship & summit
Opened the central-London flagship and hosted the UK–China Private Healthcare Summit at the British Library (200+ attendees).

The doctors are the heart of everything
Every MEDii consultant is Consultant-grade (主任医师), GMC-registered and UK-accredited — most hold their main practice in NHS tertiary (三甲) hospitals and see patients privately at MEDii, with MRCP, MRCGP, FRCS or equivalent specialist credentials. Beyond our 40+ in-house consultants, we draw on a 3,000+ UK specialist network for trusted fast-track referrals — and our whole team is bilingual, so you're understood in English or Mandarin.
